Week 1!!
So far my week has been pretty hectic. Fortunately, it has been hectic in the good way and I am only minimally stressed about not being at home for the first time ever. I was surprised to realize that I was not missing where I lived for the past 10 years at all. That city was so awful it is not even worth mentioning its name and thinking about all the bad times I had there. I would not recommend stopping by on a road trip if anyone ever wanted to visit North Carolina.
I really thought college would be worse, though. I had this idea engrained in me that older students would be really mean and scoff when you tried to ask them for directions or how to do something but so far I have found the opposite reactions. Everyone here at App seems to be really nice which is super rare to me. I was also petrified at the thought of going to classes since I imagined them to be super difficult right off the bat. The thought of really bad professors really scared me as well since my schedule looked so good on paper. I am super grateful to not have any 8 AM classes this semester! So far my favorite class seems to be my Portuguese one and I have not been so excited to attend a class in so long.
The only thing I am not very fond of so far is the walking since it feels so much worse because of the constant climbing of stairs and hills. My freshman fifteen will definitely be me losing 15 pounds rather than gaining them. I don't think my legs have ever been in the process of getting this toned! Once I hit the gym too and work on my upper body strength I'll be unstoppable. So, I guess even though I hate the trek to and from classes and my dorm it will benefit me in the long run.

I definitely think the “freshman 15” is not a thing here! I’m so glad you like Boone!
