Week 9!!
Fall break was a good time to get away from my school work and just spend time with my family. They came to visit me here in Boone and surprised me by taking me back home to Fayetteville. I wasn't to psyched about being back there but I did miss my bed and all the places where I would go eat. I restocked on everything I needed and overall collected my thoughts and took a long, nice break. I also slept a ton. I was taking naps left and right and lazing around in my bedroom. I also got my desktop back so I can finally finish working on my digital art projects and be able to start on more projects.
Unfortunately, being home meant that I was not able to volunteer on Monday. I was prepared to start asking around about food insecurity and access to food banks in the county. I even had a list of questions prepared but unfortunately my parents surprised me and I was unable to say no. I am volunteering this Saturday so hopefully I will get all or most of my questions answered. Other than volunteering at F.A.R.M. Cafe I am planning on volunteering at different organizations on campus that are more flexible with my schedule.
My classes are going pretty well and I think I'm still doing pretty good! I have two group projects though and I feel like I'm the only one who really cares. Hopefully that's not true but I had so many bad experiences with working in groups in grade school. I hope that everyone does their part and that we finish with a good product when the time comes. Thankfully, I'm on top of most of my homework so I can dedicate time to these two big projects.
Other than that, my week has been going pretty well. My roommate has been leaving me alone and I'm friends with people on my hall so we hang out every night. I'm also getting to know more of the campus and like walking around. There's a lot of cool paths around here!
